In March I gathered up some pals and recorded 5 tracks live in Bannview Studios. John MCullough, Rachel McCarthy and I set up shop for a couple days and we put some songs together; songs I love and songs I have always wanted to record. We set up a few cameras, did 4 takes of each song, took the best take and edited up the videos. Seán Óg captured the whole thing, and jumped in on guitar for one song, too; hard go past him when he’s in the room!

We tried some Bob Dylan, Nancy Griffith, Richard Thompson and a lock down discovery, for me at least, from Taylor Goldsmith of Dawes fame.

It was a joyful couple of days, especially after not singing much for the last while. It is so fantastic to get to sing with musicians I’ve always wanted to sing with, and not for any reason other than because we wanted to do it.
